7/449 Midmar-Losh Pipe Organ Opus 5500

The main console of the Midmar-Losh Opus 5500 Pipe Organ,
with over 1,000 stops controlling 449 ranks
containing over 10,000 pipes.

The fifth organ to be featured here is the largest pipe organ in the world, located in the Atlantic City Convention Hall, now known as Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It has seven manuals and 1,235 stop tongues controlling 449 ranks containing over 10,000 pipes. There is a second, smaller five manual console that is on a movable dolly.

This enormous instrument is featured in the Guiness Book of World Records as the largest musical instrument ever built in the history of mankind.

Over the years, this organ has fell into disrepair, but thanks to the ACCHOS, it is being slowly restored to its original granduer. This effort is expected to take many years and cost millions of dollars.
