78 rpm Recordings By Jesse Crawford

Welcome to Theatre Organ Replay Jesse Crawford Re-Masters

Jesse Crawford

Here is brief description of the process used to create these cuts:
The Starting Point is a 78rpm disc, the disk is played with a standard turntable, and captured thru an analog feed into the computer.
Then the resulting digital file is "cleaned" using a mixture of tools and filters to remove surface noise, clicks, pops and hiss .
After this the file is remixed into an "electronic stereo".
Next the file is Equalized to try to brighten the top end, much of which is removed during clean-up.
Finally the mix has reverb added to hide some of the "missing" stuff, and create the "in-theatre" sound.
I hope you enjoy this different version of these famous recordings...
The Final Cut - Hold Me is not taken direct from 78, but is from an lp re-issue, in the re-issue, the original vocal was removed!
