RTOS Membership is Your Personal Passport to Great Enjoyment!

RTOS membership is open to anyone over 18 years of age. Regular membership is $50 a year. Associate membership at only $35 a year is available to anyone who lives more than 50 miles airline from Rochester and to all students between the ages of 18 to 24. An additional $5.00 for first-class mailings is recommended for all non-local members and is required by postal regulations for Canadian members.

RTOS memberships provide the following benefits:

Free concert admissions for member, spouse and minor children living in the household, (or a single member plus a guest) to most if not all of the nine concerts usually scheduled from September through May. The rare exception to free membership concerts are occasional Special Events that provide a discounted ticket price to members.

Open Console playing privileges on both the 4/23 and 3/12 Wurlitzer theater pipe organs.

Newsletters before each concert.

Members are also eligible for RTOS bus tours and special social events.

A membership lending library with theater organ cassette tapes (including RTOS live concert tapes), LP records, CDs, sheet music, books and magazines is open at each concert.

In addition, Regular Members have voting rights and are able to hold office.

The sound you hear on this CD is a unique result of the intersection of the organ, the room and several special people. I was hearing this Wurlitzer before I was born and I am honored to have the opportunity to offer this collection of music to you. This has always been a fine sounding theatre organ and the absence of seating transformed the room into a cathedral-like acoustic -- like the sound bloomed! "Tom Grierson Plays Palace Favorites"

This CD was re-mastered by Dick Clay from the original 1963 release stereo LP vinyls. The original tape master was recorded in the Rochester's RKO Palace Theatre 2 years before the theatre became a victim of urban renewal in 1965. The artist Tom Grierson, an Organist Hall of Famer, opened the Wurlitzer 4/21 featured in this album on December 24, 1928. Mr. Grierson was the RKO Palace House Organist until the management stopped using the organ in the 1940s. This CD has been released to celebrate the 75th birthday of this famed Wurlitzer and the luxurious RKO Palace and the 40th birthday of RTOS itself. RTOS restored and moved this now 4/23 instrument to its present home in Rochester's Auditorium Theatre where it has been used to entertain hundreds of thousands since the start of a regular series of concerts beginning in January 1967. Tom Grierson Plays Palace Favorites produced by the RTOS in 2003.
