Petition 1

We, the undersigned, officially petition The Keith Corporation and The City of Charlotte, to abandon any and all plans for the demolition of the Carolina Theater. We feel the Carolina Theater is an important historic landmark of Charlotte's proud cultural heritage. We feel the Carolina should be saved and restored to its former glory. It is The Keith Corporation and The City of Charlotte's civic responsibility to protect this theater for all of Charlotte's citizens, present and future. Our signatures underscore our commitment to save the Carolina Theater.

Petition 2

When a few people became sensitive to some of the language in Petition 1, it was altered so as not to offend the owners and officers of The Keith Corporation. This was, however, not enough of a change to appease the sensitive ones, and Petition 2 was soon dropped. No other petition has been used. Over 8,000 people signed the two petitions.

We, the undersigned, officially petition The City of Charlotte to abandon any and all plans for the demolition of the Carolina Theater. We feel the Carolina Theater is an important historic landmark of Charlotte's proud cultural heritage. We feel the Carolina should be saved and restored to its former glory. It is The City of Charlotte's civic responsibility to protect this theater for all of Charlotte's citizens, present and future. Our signatures underscore our commitment to save the Carolina Theater.
