ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

From: Alan Lorimer, Oct. 1997

Ian McNaught collects organs, so in 1990 it seemed that the Plaza Wurlitzer opus 978 was going to be broken up, so Ian bought it and it is now in storage. The console is on display in the Cinema exhibit at the Glasgow Museum of transport. Being a large instrument we have spend some time looking for a suitable home, and at the time of writing have high hopes of installing it in Glasgow City halls. However also at the time of writing a 5 rank chest and 5 ranks of the plaza organ are on Holiday at East kilbride. Taking that instrumnet from its original 8 ranks to 13. It must be stressed that this is a temporary measure. Our ling term is to merge the Plaza and the East Kilbride organ into one instrument in a suitable location. The organ will have 2 consoles. The original Plaza will play the pipes of the Plaza organ and the 4 manual console from east kilbride will play the merged pipework.
