The 3-manual,
16-rank Wurlitzer from the Lafayette Theater in Buffalo, New York, Opus
501, was installed at the residence of my father, the late Ernest J. Boda
of Stratford, Connecticut in 1973. The instrument was officially
re-dedicated in 1980 at a Connecticut Valley Chapter meeting, with the
great Ashley Miller at the console. My father was an accomplished
pianist and organist, and the instrument remains here as a testament to
his love of the theater pipe organ not only as an instrument, but as an
artform as well.
