Here is the history on the French Trumpet at the Byrd.
1. The organ was shipped with a 15' Tuba Mirabilis from Wurlitzer.
2. In 1957 Dick Liebert did his record "Liebert Takes Richmond" on the Byrd
Wurlitzer.
Liebert felt that two tubas were not needed.
He had the Mirabilis removed and a Gottfried French Trumpet was put in its
place.
Hugh Burdick did the work for Liebert.
The Mirabilis was sold to Charlie Fleck in New Jersey.
I purchased the Mirabilis for Charlie in the 1980's
The Mirabilis will be installed in the Heights Theatre later this year.
