ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

From: George Krejci, April 2008

This organ was at one time installed in the old Buesch Funeral Home in Cleveland. Unfortunately, some modifications/deletions were made.

The original piano/organ console had all of the piano action, including the player mechanism removed, the lower manual cut down to 61 keys (piano keys retained), and the entire console cut down to a smaller size.

The Trumpet was removed along with all tuned percussions, traps, effects, etc. It was converted to a church style instrument consisting of the five remaining ranks: Flute, Diapason, Salicional, Celeste, and Vox.

I do not know when this organ was installed in the funeral home, but I remember seeing it there in the mid 1960's. I was told it was installed by Joseph Nagle of Cleveland. Everyone who knows about this organ assumes it was moved directly from the Lyceum to the funeral home.

I started maintaining this organ in 1995 or so. A remodeling project at the funeral home included the removal of the organ, and I purchased it in 1997. I then put it into storage in my shop in Cleveland.

We are at this time installing it in our residence on Catawba Island near Port Clinton, Ohio. We will be adding various ranks of Marr and Colton, Moeller, Kilgen, and others that we had in our previous residence.

Now that I am semi-retired I am finally able to take the time to install the Wurlitzer with the other additions. We no longer do any major pipe organ rebuilding as we have closed our Cleveland shop and are now just working out of our home.
